Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Once a part of the Shadowfang clan, Onria had defected from her old group to the Bloodfang Clan for the safety of numbers. In her old clan their numbers were little and hunts weren't as successful, this had almost starved her on multiple occasions so there wasn't much of a choice to stay and continue suffering. Now she has a new place in her new clan as a hatchling guardian, having a very important role that puts her in a top spot over most females. She is very strong and well respected, even the leader of the clan has high respects of her. Onria has a lot going for her after being the first outsider once belonging to another clan to join the Bloodfangs. However, this does have its downsides with some of the other vampires resenting her for being an interloper and for having dishonor by leaving her previous clan. Though she had to leave in order to survive and prosper she hasn't ever forgotten her family of old.
