Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s kind of shaky on its feet and enjoys playing in puddles.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Sorairo Shibuki's name means "sky-blue splash," and is a nod to both his color and habits.  He shares a portion of the domain with the serpentine dragons of the lakes, preferring the shoreside rather than the deep water at this point.  He likes to speak with the dragons who come to the water's edge, and lives up to his namesake by splashing water upon them if they seem like they would respond favorably to his playfulness.  Some have not been amused, but Sorairo is able to escape by melting into the surrounding water.  His interactions with the other breeds of dragon have taught him much about their temperaments.
