Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has bright blue eyes, and is as clumsy as any other hatchling, but it never seems to get injured.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

The clan's first frozen hatchling, Niveus often rolls in attention as the eternally cute hatchling. When he was first hatched, he enjoyed his youthful looks and size so he bid the aid of a deeper magic to stop his aging process. The result is his current state today, frozen as a winged hatchling. Niveus spends most of the days with Pacis, usually acting like a smaller version of the leader, though with more spunk and playful attitude. Niveus enjoys his role as the eternal playmate for the clan's nursery and is one of the first teachers of flight to the newly winged hatchlings. Niveus still holds the mindset of a hatchling, but he also has the experience of age and is insightful when the clan council gathers.
