Hellfire Wyverns are so named for their foul tempers and fiery visages. Their social structure places all females above all males, due to superior physical characteristics and violent dispositions. Forced subservience of the males causes them to become vicious, petty, antisocial, and passive-aggressive compared to the aggressive and social females. However, orphaned hatchlings raised by foster parents of another species can develop surprisingly even tempers and mellow dispositions, proving that their defining unpleasant nature is, in fact, a learned behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Your Adversary seems to have a mix of his virtuous and wicked sides, like a constant conflict. He often acts mellow, helping acquaintances, but if agitated, he can overreact, demonstrating his inner Hellfire Wyvern. He has always lived with his owner Xander, who attempts to understand Saurian, dragons' first language, to go to Your Adversary's heart. Being with Xander inspires him, making him keep his good side, but of course something is fueling his evil side. As a hatchling, Your Adversary used to go around spreading cheer, but a dino—a race living among and against the dragons—saw his actions and had led him to an abandoned area, and told Your Adversary that a nice creature couldn't exist in Valkemare. The dino swung his pointy tail like a spear and stabbed at him. He dodged and emotions rushed over him—confusion, fear, sorrow, but after the next attack came hatred. He launched a ray of fire, turning the large dinosaur into a pile of ash. These feelings are still haunting him.
