Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Soul Jar is an excitable little hatchling, obsessed with collecting assorted pots, vases, any pottery vessel a dragon could think of. In each, she puts some sort of treasure—perhaps a green gem in one, and a small skull in the next—and displays them in her vast underground 'museum'. Sometimes, she leaves one out for another dragon to break, the treasure inside a gift to them.

If a dragon dies, however, she is always there with a special jar, which is stored away in the depths of her collection...
