Siyat Dragons are extremely smart and have an excellent memory. They are very quick and will often dive through the air making chirps and calls for attention if they feel ignored. Siyat dragons are herbivores and need to eat a lot to make up for all the energy they use with their excitable nature. Groups of Siyat Dragons have a hierarchical structure based on the color of their markings. It is thought that the social status of a dragon is determined by its incubation period—in addition to having different coloration, dragons allowed more time to develop are considered wiser and of higher status.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Cornflower, having left his community for undisclosed reasons, tends to act older and wiser than he really is. He's an average age for a Siyat, hence the blue coloring, but he acts as through he were the eldest, wisest purple, which tends to fly over non-Siyat heads. Even so, Cornflower is a legitimately kind and considerate dragon with a lot of love for his Aeria Gloris mate, Galaxy. Galaxy faces a lot of loneliness issues, since her sister up and abandoned her for a powerful Thundersnow mate. Cornflower helps her cope and is quick to insist he's just as good as, if not better than, any other powerful Thundersnow. If this wasn't an indication, Cornflower has quite the ego on him. He is certainly witty and is good about outsmarting foes. Being that he is quite small, even for a Siyat, it only makes sense that he would rely on his intelligence to defend himself and mate from harm, even though Galaxy is more than capable of protecting them both with magic as well.
