Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s extremely curious and seems to enjoy exploring the area around it.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Xelyna was taken in by Allynar when she was young, and she finds the older purple dragons equally fascinating.  She is enchanted by Violetias' eccentricities and Iromeku's bubbly behavior, but is equally enthralled by Allynar's endless patience.  Unsure of how she should behave herself, Xelyna spends a lot of time simply observing the others.  She is a little bit shy and insecure, so she prefers to sit off to the side while the other hatchlings play or practice hunting.
