Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Midnight Jubilante is a black dragon. She is very proud and honorable, and she is willing to fight for her beliefs and thoughts. Being the third and only female leader of her clan, she is mainly responsible for speaking up for the females of her clan (though she is not always in tune with their needs and wishes). Although she gets along surprisingly well with Albastre Mere, her senior and the "mother" of the clan, she is quite distrustful of the human owner of the clan, Beacker1160, and always thinks his decisions and advice are not to be followed or considered seriously. This distrust has backfired on her many times.

Since she is only 3 generations away from one of the original bronze tinsels, Joyous Gift, she is considered special and many of the clan's dragons worship her. However, she doesn't appear to appreciate their relentless attempts to please and pamper her, and she tells them to do something useful for their clan (though she does, indeed, sometimes enjoy the attention).
