Sunstone Dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. Their social structure resembles a lion pride, with one dominant male and several females banded together with their young. They prefer arid climates where they can blend in and dig for minerals and gemstones that they not only collect, but eat. The more gems they consume, the larger their tail stone grows. They are an aggressive breed; it is not uncommon to see two males battling for mates and territory.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Wildbow is a talented writer, and is well known among the dragons of his Cave for his ongoing story, entitled simply "Wyrm". Readers of the story are often surprised by its violence, as the Sunstone, rather than directing his breed's typical aggression toward other dragons, has chosen to channel it into his writing instead. "Wyrm" is much more than violence, though. Every character in it has a detailed background, and many are based off of the dragons Wildbow has encountered throughout the Cave. The Sunstone dragon can often be seen writing late into the night, pen and parchment illuminated by candles spread about his cave. Occasionally he pauses to snack on a pile of sunstones—gifts from his readers. When he finishes a part of the story, he pins it up on a tree outside his cave, where it can be read by the dragons following the tale. Wildbow takes pride in updating his story regularly, and it is not uncommon to see a small crowd huddled around his cave, waiting for the next chapter.
