Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Geoffery Finalfrill is the final frill of the cave. He is a bit self-centered, and how vain he is amazes all of the dragons around him. He believes that he is the selected frill that will one day rule the cave. What he doesn't realize is that he will never grow up. Others, like Aquamarine Clef and Maria Ark, have tried to explain this to him, but he firmly believes that they are "just jealous because they can't be his mate."
