Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

An only child, one would think Aiyro would have been spoiled. This might have been true under different circumstances. But around his birth, dear old Mom decided her missing sister was more important than her son and mate just in time for Aiyro's corrupted aunt to pay them a visit, and nearly kill Aiyro's father and uncle in front of said shocked hatchling. Then sweet Mom got herself killed, further damaging the young dragon's psyche.

Afterwards, it became Hayden's focus to train his young son up for eventual revenge. Not on Aunt Vexie, but on the one who transformed her into a monster and killed his mate: Izdati.

Aiyro grew up way too fast and for this he is a bit messed up in the head. He's always trying to prove himself to an absent father.

The others only see a quippy young stud who's a bit of a womanizer. Despite his cocky behavior, Aiyro sees no value in himself. And also no value in maintaining a relationship, as he only knows any beloved of his will just loose him sooner or later.
