Albino Dragons are so named because their translucent, scale-less skin lacks all pigment. Instead, to help protect their bodies from the sun, they are coated in an oily secretion that blocks the sun’s harmful rays. The call of an albino dragon is similar to a barn owl--a shriek instead of a roar.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A gentle and quiet creature, Kana has always much preferred the company of beasts over that of other dragons or people. Yet, curiously enough, it was this very same fascination that led to her developing the strongest bonds of all. Following an unusually intelligent raven through the woods one day, Kana came upon a flock of birds gifted with speech, and--far more remarkably, in her opinion!--a brother she had heard tales of but never known. At first shy and reserved upon such a strange meeting, Kana soon came to find that there was more of her in her quirky brother than she had realized, and that their half-sister who also dwelt there was not so cold as she first appeared. Thus did the three quickly become a close knit and loving family, living happy lives with one another and the birds.
