Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This dragon's name is Daysleep, First Lineage. Daysleep is a bit of an airhead. She rarely seems to notice what's going on around her, and simply flits about on her own whims. While this could be dangerous for anyone else (especially while flying), Daysleep's daydream abilities are far stronger than an average Daydream Dragon, making it difficult for aggressors to remember what they were trying to accomplish. In fact, her powers are strong enough that Thrystus and Skolira aren't entirely sure how she joined the First Lineage.

Nobody seems to mind her presence, though. While her abilities could be abused quite easily, Daysleep doesn't seem to care much for less scrupulous acts. In fact, Daysleep doesn't seem to realize that she has any ability at all. Daysleep really doesn't seem to notice anything.

She is very close friends with Hvitra, and prefers to be called Day, although all of her friends refer to her affectionately as Sleep.
