Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very curious and fond of sweets.

And look! It has grown feathers! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Tette is a small Sweetling that resides in the jungle. Surrounded by so many birds and other dragons, he desperately wants to fly, but Sweetlings are flightless. Nevertheless, Tette constantly tries to fly. With the help of other creatures and dragons, he has gone through many different schemes to try to reach his goal: from spreading cloth between his limbs like a flying squirrel, to using sap to glue all sorts of bird feathers to his forelimbs, to devising an umbrella of jungle leaves he can grip with his tail to float. Sadly, none of these plans have succeeded and constantly result in broken bones and bruises on the small dragon. Yet, he continues to try to devise new mechanisms, never giving up on his dream. When he is not creating these machines, he uses his long tail and agility to climb to the top of the canopy. Up there, he is surrounded by the strong breeze, and when he closes his eyes, it almost feels like he has achieved his goal.
