Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Trioin loves cattle, but not as food. No one is quite sure why this is, but it is. He instead eats only rodents and insects. For this reason, he sits with the Stripe dragons whose cave he lives in during banquets. He is not very well liked by the nearby village children, as they fear for their bug collections. He does not go on exercutions like the other hatchlings in his cave, but rather stays close to home.
