Sunsong Amphipteres are an unusual breed. Due to light interference caused by their magical nature, they don’t seem to be affected by any ambient light source. However, when struck by direct sunlight, they shine a brilliant gold. They are playful and ever in flight; their ethereal and mysterious appearance and the fact that they are usually only seen at a distance have led many to believe they are a symbol of hope and good fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Viara Caelestis Aeara or 'Viara' is proud of her short, clean lineage consisting of her Sunsong mother and her Gold father. Some would say she shines brighter than any of the other Sunsongs in the cave due to her Gold heritage, but this is not true; she is simply cleaner than the others. That is not to say the other three are messy, but Viara is obsessed with staying clean. She bathes every day in a waterfall, and never lets anything that is sick or dirty get near her. Because of this, she is rather distant from the hatchlings and refuses to fight. These are weaknesses that could hurt her relationship with her clan. Another thing: she refuses to be anywhere near Natasha's Cave at night, because of the many 'filthy' Vampire Dragons that Natasha raised.

She is one of the four original Sunsong Ladies of the cave.
