Ice Dragons are fierce predators who hunt using their extremely cold breath. The breath of an ice dragon can freeze its prey solid in seconds. The body of an ice dragon is so cold that icicles will form along its skin no matter the outside temperature.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

In ancient times, when heroes roamed the earth and monsters were slain daily, the northernmost livable part of the earth was called 'Skyrim.' Though the ancient times are far behind, Skyrim has not been forgotten, as the Ice Dragon (only dragon known as native to Skyrim) lives on. A rare breed, it is hard to acquire, and the dragons of Kaoru's Cave are thrilled to have such a kind one as Skyrim. Skyrim usually stays inside the cool caves during summer, but he can be found guarding the cave and looking majestic any other month. Since Skyrim came, the cave has no longer had trouble with rogue dragons stealing food.

Skyrim almost always can be found working or chatting with Oblivion and Morrowind, the other two members of the Legendary Trio who reside at the cave.
