Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s brightly colored and chirps quite often.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Winter Rose-Petal follows in her parent's footsteps with her love for flight, however, she does not take it as seriously as they do, preferring to play in the air than practising the bone-stressing manoeuvres her mother in particular specializes in.  Popular with the other hatchlings, she is always the first to initiate a game and is never picked last in teams.  Despite trying to be friends with everyone she meets, she holds a fondness for the frozen Winter, Why So Cold, and is stubbornly determined to be his friend; however much his conceited and disdainful attitude repels the other hatchlings, nothing he does seems to push the little Pink away.
