Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It hatched with fins instead of legs and did not seem to react well to freshwater, so you relocated it to the nearest ocean.

Its dorsal fin has grown larger, and it rarely surfaces anymore. It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This hatchling lurks near a coral reef, where food is easy to catch. She is fascinated by the larger creatures that also visit the reef, but very protective of her home. Anything that damages the coral will find itself suddenly beset angrily by this very agile creature with sharp teeth and more strength than implied by her size.
