White Dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can’t bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sagesmoke is the oldest white dragon at the Breedery. Like many of the earliest residents, he was found as an egg in a large pile of other eggs which had been abandoned to die for unknown reasons. The egg had a scroll gently set beneath it which described his pedigree, so he must have been bred in captivity, but nothing more is known about his origins. Now among the oldest and longest-term residents of any species, Sagesmoke is highly respected. Though his kind do not organize themselves at the Breedery, if there is any one 'leader' or chief healer among the Breedery whites, it is he. None can quite match his skill at healing. He's not as physically adept as he was in his youth, and his joints are getting stiff with age, yet he is in no danger of dying any time soon. The elderly dragon sometimes surprises others with his mental alacrity; he allows himself to seem doddering until he has something important to say. His words cut sharper than a knight's sword when he wants them to.
