It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

To keep audiences entertained while full-length plays are being set up, Roaring Lion Productions offers a variety of short-form serials. One of the most popular involves the adventures of Ultragon, a heroic "guardian of nature" (actually a purple dragon in a rather unconvincing costume), his resourceful love interest, and an assortment of friends and villains.

Nekaro, the star, spends most of each episode as a mild-mannered messenger, who in times of great danger transforms (with the aid of the best efforts of the makeup and costume departments) into Ultragon. As Ultragon, Nekaro performs spectacular feats of strength and agility, always saving the day in the nick of time. Despite his similarity to his alter ego, nobody in the serial (with one exception) ever seems to figure out who Ultragon truly is. Nekaro would laugh at this, except that a touch of face-blindness means that he doesn't always recognize his co-stars if he meets up with them outside the theater.
