Fire Gem Dragons are a colorful, flamboyant breed often found in hot climates, particularly around active volcanoes. Their broad tails store the flames they breathe, which are colored by the heavy amount of minerals in the water they drink. These dragons come in a variety of colors, and will collect shiny trinkets and stones that match their own coloration. Despite their hoarding tendencies, though, Fire Gem dragons are social and will often congregate in groups and show off their collections while fawning over the stones their friends and rivals have gathered, occasionally arranging trades.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This dragon is a notorious thief, pilfering valuables from noblemen and women to fence on the black market. She began her life in an odd place for her breed, hatching in a bustling trading village alongside a dock. She got by as a hatchling by stealing food, and eventually found that she could steal shiny things and sell them for other things she wanted. Her intelligence and trading skill bloomed as she matured, and eventually she began running an illegal empire alongside her mate who was a proficient salesdragon.

She gained the moniker "The Backalley Queen", for her dominance over the black market and thievery skills. Eventually she alone ran her empire after her mate met with an accident that caused him to lose his intelligence and believe he was a cat. She now keeps him quietly cared for and prevents him from bumping into walls too often. Her wealth continues to grow as she deals with both humans and dragons, and she hasn't been caught yet despite efforts of numerous authorities.
