Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Toxic Dorkface, of the legendary Dorkface clan, had been raised on a battlefield. From the moment he hatched his old owner pitted him against the other hatchlings. It was discovered during his first battle that he spits venom instead of fire, and his name later came from that. By sundown, Toxic was the only living hatchling.

After that, his owner entered Toxic in many arena battles. He never lost until he battled a Zombie dragon. Poor Toxic simply couldn't kill it; all of his best attacks were simply shrugged off, and for the first time in his life, Toxic lost.

His infuriated owner abandoned him. The little hatchling simply sat there, waiting, until another human took pity on him and adopted him. She listened to his story, and named him after his venom. At first Toxic had a hard time adjusting to his new life, but soon he was happier than he had been before.
