Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Unlike the other hatchlings, this one hatched with wings.

And look! Its back legs have become a second set of wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This hatchling was forced out of its egg prematurely.

Dragonhaven Island holds many secrets, not all of them pleasant. Nyeriya and her companions were rescued by Myrnekal from one such hidden place, a vast graveyard of smashed eggs where nothing grew. She's the only one of the trio not to have any apparent enhanced powers, unless an excellent sense of direction counts. Instead, she supports the other two, waking Xayos' targets from their daydreams and finding a clear location for Kyambra to teleport from. Nyeriya doesn't speak much, but is worth listening to when she does.
