Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Ever since it hatched, the sky has been full of very dark clouds.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Everyone calls him Stormphrax for his insufferable habit of creating spontaneous storms, but he refuses to go by a name, being too miserable by being frozen.  Ever since his arrival, the older gray dragon, Luneth, was furious by his presence and began to shun him.  Finding this to not work to his satisfaction, he began to profusely bully Stormphrax, chasing him out of the cave at time, nipping his wing buds or even maiming him a little.  The young dragon was incredibly miserable, until one day when Spirica, the gentle queen noticed it and offered to become his protector along with her mate and, in turn, he would freeze himself.  She warned him that Luneth's temper would grow to the point of killing him if he grew up.  When he agreed to her standards, he began to live in constant misery and regret for his choice.  For the only thing poor Stormphrax had wanted was a place among his Clan of dragons as a fierce and noble protector.  Now those dreams are dashed.
