Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has bright blue eyes, and is as clumsy as any other hatchling, but it never seems to get injured.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

The triplets aren't actually related by blood, but they definitely seem like true siblings. The reason for this is evident in their similarly small statures; permanently suspended as mere hatchlings by the obsessive "Specialist", the trio found comfort in each other when even the adults of their own breed turned away.

Ply is the eldest, and was the first by a long shot to succumb to the icy grip of eternal youth, therefore he secretly considers himself the apparent leader of this delicate group. He keeps watch while the younger pair sleep or eat, as three small hatchlings are an easy target for predators and cruel dragons alike. In their happier moments, Ply Well teases him for his rigid manners and seriousness, reasoning that if they must be eternally young, they may as well act their "age". Despite her teasing, his face does soften at times, for when his two tiny friends are fast asleep, he can freely examine his love for them and his guilty gratitude that he is no longer alone.
