Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It must be very shy since it keeps hiding from you.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Missed is treated like a pet by his mistress, being small enough to ride on her shoulder or curl up in her palm. However, the other dragons don't see him in such a way, and he is often ignored or overlooked by his larger cousins. Because both his mental and physical growth is stunted, his speech is under-developed and therefore most of the noises he makes come out as squeaks or growls. He often acts as though he is a full-sized dragon, and demands respect from the others. Of course, they never hear him.
