Found along the coast and in nests high above the ground, Mistra Dragons are respected for their gentle nature. They are known to adopt any abandoned eggs or hatchlings that they find and raise them as their own, singing softly to lull their young into a deep sleep. As a result of their close relationships with their families, Mistra Dragons tend to live in large, close groups. They use their large numbers to their advantage for many things, including putting on shows (of sorts) and frightening predators away from their nests.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Singsoft hatched not with a cry but a whisper, and he's been a quiet sort by nature since then. In the large and close-knit clan of Mistra dragons in the Weyr of Soft Flowers, he often goes through conversations saying nothing, his voice too soft to be heard. It doesn't bother him, most days. He prefers to listen. Every dragon needs someone to listen to them at some point.

He supposes that includes him, too. It's not that he doesn't have his own perspectives to share, ideas to suggest, pain to express. He just has a hard time getting the words out at first, and while his Clanmates are generally kind, many aren't very patient.

Of course, it's always simple to miss what makes no sound.

Though lately, Singsoft has been spending more time with the Cantormaris Quiverheart, a Motus who splits his time between the Weyr of Soft Flowers and one of the distant Cities of Snow and Cloud. When he visits, he waits to hear Singsoft's words, and finally, he can share them with a friend who hears him.
