Waterhorse Dragons received their name due to their horse-like physique and endearing behavior. They are capable of surviving out of water, and when on land their skin secretes a gelatinous goo to retain moisture. However, their large paddle feet are better suited for swimming, and waterhorse dragons tend to move very awkwardly when on land. Waterhorses are very friendly dragons and enjoy playing with humans.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nehaila's birth was a big deal within the Starambers. With the Creorluna war raging around them, family had become a rather important thing. Even her vampire sister was present upon her birth.

From the day she was born, she was a fighter. Her fiery personality and size didn't quite match up though, creating a comical effect. As she grew, she became particularly fast and skilled at immobilizing others using pressure points.

Nehaila has her difficult side. Unlike her modest parents, she'd inherited her grandfather's ego and a knack for taking clumsy spills.

She's the only member of her family save her father and of course her sister who has seen her two cursed half brothers; though unlike them, she's unaware of who Bane and Neo are. To her, they are just friends.

Nehaila had reminded Alabane of a combination of her mother, Angel, and Tesky when he first befriended them both. It brought back a strong nostalgia and as such she's become the one living dragon Bane ever spends time with.
