Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nadaghi is a Vampire victim. She fawns over her looks, her creamy scales, the red veins running under her skin and branching across her wings to give the soft membrane that gentle, pink shade, her delicately sculpted and beautifully prominent skeleton and sharp cheekbones and of course, the canines with which she draws the blood of many a being.

Nadaghi has always desired a child of her own. She feels that, as much as she likes her vampiric self, her transformation took away her greatest life choices before she even hatched. Eventually the desire to become a doting mother became too much; she stole the newly laid egg of two dragons as they slept, thinking that since it was their first child, it could also be her first. And it would grow up into another magnificent Vampire, nobody would know what would've been had she not interfered... and she loves her child and the ethical issues that come with it with every inch of her cold, dead heart.
