Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Mavef has always believed that whatever Roaring Lion Productions can do, Future Era Productions can do ten times as well. Roaring Lion Productions made short serials about heroic dragons, but his theatrical group would make whole series of plays about them. The first few were disasters, disowned even by the actors who performed in them, but recently he's found success with the Spectaculars.

Naafe plays Trickster, the most frequently appearing villain. The estranged adopted brother of Thunderstrike, Trickster has a perpetual vendetta against the Spectaculars. His command of magic (more appropriate for a magi dragon than for a black, but Naafe still performs most of his spells) allows him to come up with new and creative ways to cause trouble with each new play. One of the most popular characters (even more so than some of the Spectaculars), Trickster has numerous fans who want to see him redeemed.
