Serrati Wyverns are a fierce breed of dragon typically found in volcanic areas or in desert scrubland. With their keen vision, these fearsome predators can pick out well-camouflauged prey from the slightest movement. They are named for the double rows of serrated teeth that line their beaks, which allow these wyverns to maintain an unbreakable grip on prey while they tear into their target with deadly hooked claws. Though these dragons are combative with nearly everything, they are surprisingly well-mannered when raising their offspring in communal nests. Males, however, tend to be chased off as soon as eggs are laid.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The Freani-eplith, or Friends of the Forest, are a guild that has sworn to protect the forest and all who pass through it. There are four "divisions" within the guild: The Guardians, The Cloud Guard, The Earth Guard, and The Bloodseekers.

The Bloodseekers serve the guild as hunters and assassins. Trained to move quickly and quietly, they are a formidable opponent in battle. Coming across a Bloodseeker could either mean that you have wronged the guild in some way, or simply that you have run into them during one of their hunting trips.

Seregion is a Bloodseeker, specializing in "counter-mugging", as he calls it. Whenever bandits attempt to attack a caravan passing through the forest, Seregion is likely nearby, waiting to pick up his dinner. The merchants in these caravans tend to shower him with gold in the hopes that he won't eat them as well. This is unnecessary, as he is sworn to protect them, not eat them. All acquired "funds" go to the city guard to help put a damper on crime.
