Valentine eggs are only seen once a year. Adults’ mating seasons are very short, usually spanning a few weeks in the mid-to-late winter. These dragons were once reputed to be omens of good luck in love.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. She was the first dragon to accompany Shade on her quest, and even as an egg, she sang with an energy of affection and all-encompassing love.

Many months have passed and she still remains an ever-faithful friend to the dragons of the clan. Her songs bring peace and serenity, but also love between fate-entangled lovers of the dragon, and even human, variety.
