Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

SilentAutumnDay is a Seasonal Dragon hatchling who is very reserved. He fears any new visitors and hides deep within the cave when guests are around. Even around dragons he knows well he is very quiet. But his fellow hatchlings try very hard to get him to mentally talk to them, since he makes up amazing, entertaining, exciting stories. And it is a very rare treat when he will psychically share a tale. The only dragons he can mentally comfortably talk to are his family, especially his father SilentGuardian.
