Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

Sundiscus is a stunningly beautiful drake with saffron scales and azure wings as delicate as frost. One would think that this proud and regal creature would only lift his wings in the most terrible emergency, but in fact it is very different. Sundiscus flaps lazily above a sunlit clearing, then stretches his wings out to make his form circular, and thus, like a discus. Then he falls spinning in the air like a sycamore helicopter. A glorious sight, it is thought that Sundiscus is trying to attract a mate.
