And look! Its fins and tail have gotten bigger, and you’ve moved it to a larger body of water to swim in. It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Wayokai has always been interested in underwater tales. With her red eyes glinting with a hunger for knowledge, she dives as far as her body allows her. She tries to speak with any and every knowledgeable source she can find, asking an endless barrage of questions until her 'source' ends up trying to get away from her. Wayokai has no time for people or creatures going on about false nonsense, she's too bust trying to find out if the tale she heard last week is real or not, so the only time to swap details with her is when she's home with her clan, pelting you with questions or looking for a new subject to research. And she hates being told she can't do anything because she's small, young or even a girl, so unless you WANT to be hit with strong magic, talk to her like an equal.
