Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

One of the Guardians of the Grove, Persephone is one of the oldest dragons to hold the place she does: as Guardian of Earth, she and her bonded partner, Desda, are in charge of maintaining the sacred stone circles and altars that dot the Seraphin lands. A queenly, stately dragon, Persephone has been largely unconcerned with breeding, and has abandoned her children over the years. She is enormous, immensely old, and extremely patient: Desda is always having to remind her that she will never live as long as her partner, druidic magic or not, so that Persephone does not fall into years of contemplation or sleep.
