Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It glows with some form of arcane energy.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Caster of Darkness showed the promise of greatness before she hatched. Her mother was a powerful magi dragon and her father was a black dragon talented in dark magic. From the time of her hatching she became best friends with Caster of Light, and that friendship strengthened after she was frozen. Her owner had to freeze her because she was part of Caster of Light's clan and because of her power. Caster of Darkness loves her owner but feels the need to see and do more, a goal she feels she cannot accomplish when her owner is in control.
