Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Kithertee (Kih-thur-tea) was adopted and raised by the pink dragon pair Mewel and Funip. While her parents are unrepentant pranksters, she has not picked up their love for practical jokes. She would much rather spend her time lounging on rocks and smelling (and eating) the abundant flowers growing in the Bitterwind Valley. She is a peaceful sort who doesn't wish harm on anyone, even if it is "all in good fun".
