Ice Dragons are fierce predators who hunt using their extremely cold breath. The breath of an ice dragon can freeze its prey solid in seconds. The body of an ice dragon is so cold that icicles will form along its skin no matter the outside temperature.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

While unsympathetic and aggressive toward others, Havainya likes to claim that she has an impenetrable bond with the females of her species, especially with Binca, Tahkini, and FI 001. Her words are obviously exaggerated since she doesn't know any female Ice Dragons outside of her clan, but if someone dares argue against her, she will rant for hours on end. When Binca and Tahkini turn against each other in a fierce battle, Havainya will plead for peace in a singsong voice, ultimately doing nothing to halt the violence. She often speaks of her troubles to FI 001, who looks on with a dull, emotionless stare. She also enjoys organizing "Book Clubs" with the three (who usually ignore them), using pieces of literature she stole from human villages as the books.
