Horse Dragons have equine-shaped bodies and hooves instead of claws, which allow them to be fast runners. They specialize in running takeoffs, which are quicker than taking off from a stand-still. Horse dragons are able to stalk their prey from the ground then quickly execute an aerial attack for the kill.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Cobale is another sudden Starless appearance. While he was placed in Vayden's reluctant care, he doesn't spend much time around the cave. Not much is known about the male except that he only comes to the cave at night. Where he goes is a mystery to almost everyone. He's quite friendly, often racing the fleet-footed Arion or assisting Eros in Egg duty when he's about and he's always willing to have a nice chat with someone. Cobale is a bit spacey and easily startled because he's minds always somewhere else. At night, he often wakes from nightmares. More than once, the others have woken him from his dreams because of his thrashing and screaming. Cobale is always alright in the morning but he has a haunted look about him.
