Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Silver Tree is the keeper of legends amongst the dragons of the clan. She is older than she looks and remembers many of them firsthand, but even she is not ancient enough to have witnessed the Silver and the Golden Tree—the first trees whose shimmering lights lit the world before even the sun and the moon came into existence.

While the Sunstones and Moonstones smile tiredly about that specific story it has earned Silver Tree a lot of admiration among the Terraes of the clan.
