Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sun's Black Mystery was only a hatchling when he was abandoned. A demon had entered him, and he was often thrown into violent stages- killing or severely injuring dragons around him. No one wanted him or would dare get close to him, except a dragon from the Spirit Cave- Lightning of the Distant Storm. He took Sun's Black Mystery to the Spirit Cave and researched ways to get the demon out of him. Sun's Black Mystery found out the way by himself and punctured his left wing, the same wing that the demon had entered him. Sure enough, the demon left, but Sun's Black Mystery isn't able to fly. His mate, Rising Sun at Night's End, is helping him recuperate and learn to fly again with his permanently injured wing.
