Mint colored dragons are the most peaceful of all dragons; they only eat plants unless they scavenge meat from an already dead animal. They also have no ways to attack others or defend themselves. They are much smaller than other forms of dragons since they only double in size when they mature. Mint dragons are unable to use magic and cannot fly since they lack wings. Their looks have given rise to the common insult of calling dragons “large lizards.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Mentha Viridis is the smallest dragon in the cave. Her name can be approximately translated from Latin to "Mint Green". As her name suggests, Mentha eats mostly vegetation that grows in and around the cave. She prefers to allow the other dragons to have first dibs on the meat that is brought in from the hunt and only takes what is left over.

Mentha is kind and patient but she is also ditzy and sometimes clumsy. She is a great help around the caves and regularly assists Tutela and Blatta with the eggs and hatchlings as well as Dione Moxy with healing and nursing other dragons back to health.

She is a special favorite with all of the hatchlings due to her size and she can usually be found playing with them when ever Dione does not need her help. Mentha insists that she does not mind the attention from the young dragons because she is just as young as heart as they are.
