Tsunami Wyverns are gigantic dragons that live near the ocean. These wyverns can create deadly tsunamis by vigorously flapping their wings directly above the water. They create these waves to catch the eye of potential mates or as a form of self defense, as they are hunted for their beautiful skin. A Tsunami Wyvern’s wings are also helpful in gliding over the ocean without expending much energy. Their colors make it easy for them to blend in with the ocean water, which can be useful while stalking prey. Using their rudder-like tails and webbed feet to dive deep into the water, they can easily catch and eat their fill of big fish. Tsunami Wyverns can be found mostly near island chains.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Belikyd was raised by the human girl named Flight in the Mountains of Elgar. From the moment he first caught sight of her through a crack in his shell, Belikyd became infatuated with his human caretaker. The Tsunami Wavern followed Flight constantly, often riding on her shoulder when the human was on her errands away from the home cave. Belikyd's attachment to Flight did not go unnoticed in the Mountains of Elgar. Before he had even gained his wings other dragons raised by Flight began to scorn him out of jealousy. By the time he was a matured hatchling Belikyd was disliked by most of the dragons, even his littermates. The one dragon who gave him the most trouble was his younger brother, the Magi dragon named Beltior. Finally the arguments between Belikyd and the other dragons became to much for Flight and she scolded all of them. Since that day Belikyd withdrew himself from Flight so as not to cause trouble. However he still watches over her from his home by the sea and visits often.
