Storm Dragons are the masters of the skies. They are excellent fliers and land only to rest and eat. In addition, they have full control of the weather. They are very hot-tempered and easily angered. They will attack any human that bothers them, conjuring strong winds and dangerous lightning.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Gwenhwyfar controls her clan because her storm-calling magic is very strong, and she is a fearless fighter.  Most of the other adults fear her, but her magic keeps them safe in an area that is dangerously close to human territories.  She was the one who found the abandoned castle that the clan currently inhabits, and made it suitable for dragons to nest in.  She is very jealous of the other females and if given a chance, will kill their eggs and hatchlings.  Fortunately, there are plenty of nooks and crannies in and around the castle where babies can be hidden until they're old enough to protect themselves.  Gwenhwyfar rests in the only tower of the castle that hasn't crumbled when she tires of flying over her territory and searching for enemies to kill.
