Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Carried in as a nearly frozen over egg a few days before Christmas, her handler recognized the breed immediately, having had raised this breed once before. There were several times where he wasn't sure that she would survive long enough to even hatch. When she did, she was smaller than she should have been, needing extra care and attention to make sure she grew, and took longer than she should have in growing her feathers. But when they did grow in, they shined like the purest of gold. As an adult, she rarely likes to leave the sanctuary, preferring to hibernate in one of the sanctuary caves almost all year long and coming out to dance around in winter.
