When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.
A permanent resident of a sacred lake, Monte Negro has unwittingly tricked the nearby villages into thinking she is a totem of their goddess. Though she is entirely ordinary herself (as far as dragons go), Monte Negro nonetheless enjoys the free prey she receives as tribute- a little too much, perhaps, as she has gotten quite fat off the villager's bounty. Quite placid and benevolent, as she is always well fed, Monte Negro is often a pleasure to be around, and other beings tend to go out of their way to befriend her in the hopes they will get some tribute of their own.
