Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

Hatching in a blanket of dew in a calm, quiet morning, Dawn adapted to the beauty, grace, and brightness of day. When she looked to the sky, the golden rays of the fiery sun burst through a huge aurora, covering the forest in a shroud of color and beauty. When she grew her wings, she flew up high to see the exquisite ribbon of light up close, and in doing so, the membrane of her wings captured the solar crystals that made up the aurora, giving her a crystalline glow to her wings. She loves soaring into aurora, wading in and out of the spectrum, collecting more and more color each day. When she opens her wings on the ground, it's as if the sky had fallen into her wings; the efflorescence of color and beauty was simply mind-blowing.
