Tetra Dragons are often found in large groups. They are very social both with their own species and with others. Tetra Dragons are very active and change locations quite frequently. Males defend small parts of territory within the groups but major conflicts rarely occur. Tetra Dragons prefer territory with lots of natural hiding places and can be skittish.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dewclaw Swift was the second dragon to reach adulthood within the Cloudtouched Thicket. As such, she has an unbreakable bond with Tenderheart, the only dragon who preceded her hatching. Dewclaw's name, (often shortened to Dew) which may seem odd to many, stems from the vestigial claw on the inside of her arms and was carefully selected to describe her most deeply held values in life. Dew, like many Tetra dragons, is loyal and amiable to a fault. Her happiness is derived from her ability to keep her family safe. Being of a typically flighty breed, however, means that courage is difficult for her to muster. She prefers keeping disagreements diplomatic. If pushed to the brink, however, Dewclaw will go to any lengths, including violence, to make sure that Tenderheart and her beloved hatchlings are kept safe. In this way, Dewclaw is like her namesake: her claws are hidden and only used as a last resort when no other option is available.
